Lotus Homes Canada’s upcoming project is in Roseville, Ontario, a community located within the Township of North Dumfries in the Region of Waterloo. Read on for fall-friendly activities in and around North Dumfries.
1. Visit a conservation area
The FWR Dickson Wilderness Area is a 15-minute drive from Roseville and features trails and boardwalks through forest and wetlands. It is also a great spot for birdwatching.
In addition, North Dumfries offers a number of hiking and cycling trails maintained by the Grand River Conservation Authority and Region of Waterloo Agreements Forests. Find a list of trails here.
2. Visit the library
The Region of Waterloo is responsible for library services in North Dumfries. North Dumfries’ Ayr Branch is located at 137 Stanley Street. Learn more about Region of Waterloo Library here.
3. St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market
The St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market is a half-hour drive from Roseville and is open year-round on Thursdays and Saturdays from 7AM-3:30PM. It’s a great spot to pick up fresh produce, baked goods, and other treats!
4. Visit the City of Stratford
A 40-minute drive from Roseville, Stratford makes for a great day trip. Stratford is best known for its Stratford Festival, and fall is a great time to catch a play. (Bonus points if it is Shakespeare!) The Stratford Festival runs from late April to early November. If theatre is not of interest to you, take a walk through the picturesque downtown to admire the architecture, or along the waterfront. Stratford is also a great place to visit for architecture buffs.
5. Stay in
Sometimes, there is no better way to celebrate fall than to escape the oncoming chill with a day at home. Warm up some apple cider, pop some popcorn, and settle in with a good book or movie. Learn more about Lotus Homes’ “The Rose” model in Roseville here, which features an open-concept main floor and optional gas fireplace in the Great Room for a comfortable, cozy feel.
